What a beautiful day. My father and I realized our number 1 item on our bucket list; diving with great white sharks! We where there on october 24th and it was one of the best moment of my life. We saw 3 great whites and the day was just amazing. The staff is super friendly and professional, the boat is clean and they know their stuff! We will be back!
I went on three excursions with Atlantic Shark Expeditions (ASE) on consecutive days in October. I can assuredly say they were superlative. We had sightings of great white sharks pretty much all day long, with a number of them staying with us the entire day and displaying their power, grace and intelligence. As marine biologist and shark researches, Neil is always willing to provide any additional context and information, as are the rest of the crew. They are all truly professional and devoted to what they are doing, which is to further shark research and knowledge and protect these amazing creatures. I went on these excursions last year and am already booked for next year. Truly a one of a kind experience which is not easy to replicate anywhere else on the face of the planet. Well done ASE crew, you're truly on the cutting edge! Can't wait to see you again next year.
What an INCREDIBLE experience! We had a dive cancelled September 2024 due to weather, and luckily we rebooked into the new White Shark expedition this past weekend (Oct 23rd, 2025). This was one of the best adventures I have been on in my life, and I feel lucky enough to have experienced it in my home province. We saw 9 great white sharks, many of whom were very active and energetic around the cage and the boat. The crew were friendly, knowledgable, and engaging with the passengers, all while focusing on the research and conservation of these beautiful creatures. I felt very safe and secure the entire time, as did the others in my group. I will definitely be booking again to return next season and have been telling all of my friends and family about this amazing adventure!
Thanks Neil, your customer service in arrangement for gift ideas and going over and above to add the little touches. Truly can't wait 2026!
This was a long trip in the making. I was one of the first to sign up for this new location to target Great Whites specifically. I booked our trip last December 2024 and completed our trip October 17,2025. We drove from Kansas City and took the car ferry from Maine to Yarmouth. I had several questions on the logistics and ASE answered everything and gave a lot of help in suggesting hotels, transportation, trip insurance, and fulfilled every doubt I had about pulling a trip off like this. There is no guarantee to see wild sharks and the weather is also unpredictable which can cause cancellations, but ASE was upfront and helpful on all aspects of the trip. In the end, we did experience some weather challenges but got to experience 1 extraordinary day where we interacted with 6 Great Whites! A truly unforgettable experience. The dive master, boat captain and Dr. Neil were very professional and informative and Iโll remember this trip the rest of my life. I hope to do this again either in Halifax or out of Yarmouth again. Nova Scotia is also a beautiful region with history and nice people. A great adventure we had!
Absolutely amazing time! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The whole crew was unbelievably kind, helpful, knowledgeable and really did everything they could to make us have a great time. 100% would recommend and hope some day I can make it back. Thank you for everything you did and are doing for our shark friends! Keep playing that ABBA!
Thank you again for the amazing and surreal experience on Oct 11th 2025. I am very grateful to have been able to go out on the water that day then to have seen as many sharks as we did, it was truly a once in a lifetime event (unless I come back and do it again next year 🤣 ). This was something I wanted to do ever since I was a kid... my first book report in primary school was about the lateral lines and Ampullae of Lorenzini on Great White sharks. (what a nerd eh? 🤣) The whole crew was great and it added so much to the experience to see you all get along together and tell us your stories.
Went out on the boat today (Oct 15) and had an absolutely incredible life-altering experience! Weather and sharks were both 10/10, which means we were super lucky. Today is the only day this week that wasn't cancelled, and for that I am thankful. We got to meet 6-7 individual White sharks today. They hung out around the boat all day, coming and going in groups of 2-3. As someone with experience diving, I can say the gear was well maintained and safe. I work with hookah lines weekly, and I can tell you that they are a pain in the ass to maintain; I was very impressed with the quality of the gear. John, the dive master, and Maggie, the Captian, were friendly, knowledgeable and cared greatly for the safety of all participants. The entire crew - John, Maggie, Robin and Dr. Neil - were a blast to get to know. This group of people are so very passionate about their work, and half of the experience was getting to watch them watch the sharks. They all knew the IDs of the sharks who appeared today, and spoke to one another about the sharks with an intimate level of knowing. That's really all you could ask for in a team bringing you out on an excursion like this. Time spent in the cage was plentiful. Four people can be in the cage at a time, and you spend about 15 minutes under the water per round. This varies depending on shark activity (they will let you stay under if the sharks are close!) and group participation (at one point I was the only one in the cage and could stay longer). You can go into the cage as many times as you'd like within the few hours! I think everyone went in twice and were content. The views from the top of the boat were just as amazing and great for pictures and videos of the sharks. I absolutely recommend this excursion. Just know that sharks and weather are the two most important factors, and neither are controllable. There were guests with us who had gone several times in the past (some with other companies and to different countries) and had never seen any sharks. It's all about going in with a positive attitude and managing your expectations. This is about seeing introverted animals in their natural habitat, which happens to be a massive ocean.
Not sure where to begin on this one. We booked this trip months in advance as this was the bucket list item for me. The pre trip info was very helpful and the group answered all of my questions! We finally arrived in Nova Scotia a few days before our scheduled 3 days of adventure with Atlantic Shark Expeditions. Of course, we traveled all the way from Florida to be cancelled for two days because of twin hurricanes of all things. ASE kept us up to date through the delays and provided me a list of things that we could do to fill the time until hopefully the weather cleared. This worked out well as we got out whale watching and got to see our first humpbacks! Finally, on the last day and window of opportunity we had the chance to possibly get out. We arrived early at the meeting point and had an extra cup of coffee. Calvin arrived on time and met each of us in the diner where he directed us a few blocks down to meet John for wetsuits. Gearing up went smoothly and we made our way on the dock to meet with Capt. Maggie who welcomed us aboard and began pre departure preparations! It started getting real as we could view the cage, and lovely cooler of attractants! Finally, after a 1.5 boat ride we arrived to an area offshore. The chum slick was launched followed by the cage. As the smelly chum called the sharks, divers were told to don their wet suits and safety information was disseminated. A few who were new to breathing from the regulators were given a chance to enter the cage while we waited for the main guests. It didn't take long before the toothy critters arrived. The next few hours were some of the most exhilarating that you can imagine. Divers took turns trying not to be eaten in the cage! Operations went smooth through-out the day! I think I spent roughly an hour in the cage over two dives. Sharks passed many, many times providing ample opportunity for photos or videos and came within three feet of me! John, Calvin, and Maggie were super helpful and personable. They provided tons of information about the sharks, their operations, and how our presence was assisting them with the collection of daily data. This was a fabulous adventure that I highly recommend to anyone. No scuba experience is necessary. My 13 yr old daughter had a great time (although she is a competent certified diver) despite the rough (remember 2 hurricanes) and cold conditions. Highly recommend that you take your own lunch, snacks, and water with you. We already booked our hurricane cancelled days for 2026! Hope to see you there!
On a sunny Friday morning we headed out...And the white sharks came out! They were curious and as we observed them they definitely observed us. The team of Calvin, John and Captain Sara made the day incredible. White sharks Loca, Ryan,Sunshine and a new unnamed 13 ft female spent the day in the ocean with us too! We learned we laughed we loved it!
This was outstanding experience. Was able to dive twice. Both times we had sharks. 1st trip 3 nice sharks n 2nd dive 11 sharks. What an awesome time
I've needed to do this for nearly 40 years and I wasn't disappointed! Definitely a highlight of my life. I've been 4 times now and will keep going as long as I'm able! The team is knowledgeable and professional, full of interesting and amusing stories. They are doing some amazing and very important work and research for the conservation of these incredible animals. I cannot say enough good things about this operation.
Absolutely incredible experience. I couldnโt ask for anything more. The team was just amazing! Seeing the Great Whites up close was the most awesome thing ever. I canโt recommend this enough for Shark lovers!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the experience! I will be forever grateful I was able to do this here in Canada!
This was seriously the best day of my life! I have wanted to do this for over 30 years and I had an amazing time! The crew were so helpful, caring and knowledgeable. You can tell that they really care about these animals and the work they do. Thanks guys for making my dream come true!
What an absolutely incredible experience! 🤩🤯 I was absolutely blown away by the efforts of the team - not just make us safe and comfortable, but also to engage us in the incredibly important research that they are doing. As someone who has done a LOT of wildlife based tourism to varying degrees of ick - this is absolutely 💯 the gold standard and adds a ton of value to the experience. 🎉 But seriously, how about those sharks ??! 🦈 🦈 🦈 Blown away by the experience. Seeing just one great white shark up close was the thrill of a lifetime, but to see SEVEN and to be able to swim with them?! 🤩😭🤯 Thereโs nothing like being able to see such incredible animals in their natural habitat, with front row seats for their interactions and personalities. (And a 14 foot shark has a LOT of personality 💅✨.) Cannot recommend enough and again THANK YOU! 🙏🏼 🦈
We had an absolutely incredible experience with Atlantic Shark Expeditions! I went with my two daughters (both in their 20s), and from start to finish it was unforgettable. Captain Maggie, Robyn, Calvin, and John were exceptionalโso knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming. Safety was clearly their top priority, which made us feel completely comfortable the entire trip. The highlight, of course, was seeing six different white sharks up closeโan awe-inspiring sight weโll never forget! The crewโs passion for what they do really shines through, and they created such a fun and engaging atmosphere while keeping everything organized and safe. I canโt recommend Atlantic Shark Expeditions enough. If youโre looking for an adventure of a lifetime, this is it!
Saw 8-9 white sharks. Activity started almost immediately when we setup on site and lasted the whole day. Crew were very knowledgeable and inviting. Was a fantastic day on the water and a bucket list item checked off. Thanks ASE!
The staff were incredible! The kindest and sweetest people we have ever had on tour. John was especially patient and helpful when teaching how to use the respirator. The researchers are very concious about the environment and made the experience extremely special.
Beyond amazing experience! I donโt care if in the future, I get married or have a child this will always be the best day of my life! Thank you for the awesome trip and making my life long dream come true! And the bonus of this trip is thereโs an opportunity to get in the cage more than once!
I saw five great white sharks. What more could I want? It was a dream come true. Thanks to the wonderful team!
Cage diving, specifically with great white sharks, has always been on my bucket list but it was so important to me to find an ethical company that offered it. Atlantic Shark Expeditions was exactly that! Theyโre knowledgeable, friendly, funny but more importantly: the trip is about education and conservation with the added benefit of cage diving. We saw a total of five sharks, the first within nine minutes! I cannot recommend this experience enough!
The experience of a lifetime! The crew were all great and the sharks were magnificent. Still can't believe I got to see them so close.
Atlantic Shark Expeditions offers an unforgettable experience that goes far beyond a typical ocean adventure. This fantastic research body has created a program that allows you to get up close and personal with Great White sharksโthe beautiful, gentle giants of the seaโin a way that is both safe and profoundly moving. What makes the experience stand out is its balance of immersion and education. From the moment you step aboard, you are welcomed into a world where science, conservation, and awe-inspiring encounters come together. The teamโs expertise and passion shine through as they guide you to understand not only the biology of great whites but also their importance in maintaining the health of our oceans. Perhaps the most incredible part is realizing that every shark has its own personality and behaviors. Watching them glide effortlessly through their natural environmentโsometimes curious, sometimes cautious, always powerfulโis humbling. There is truly no better way to see these animals than in their own home waters, behaving as they would without interference. Atlantic Shark Expeditions isnโt just about the thrill of seeing a great white up closeโitโs about shifting perspectives. You come away not only with breathtaking memories but also with a deeper appreciation for sharks as vital, intelligent beings that deserve our respect and protection. If youโve ever dreamed of connecting with the oceanโs most iconic predator in a way that is meaningful, respectful, and unforgettable, thereโs no better choice than Atlantic Shark Expeditions. Hands down one of the best days of my life! See you next year for another unforgettable day on the sea!
What a great experience. Crew was great from the second we arrived. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! 2 great whites for the day but โBennyโ gave an awesome show all day! Loved every minute!
Fantastic Experience! The crew was incredibly knowledgeable and made me feel safe and welcome. Everything was well organized and seeing the sharks up close was absolutely unforgettable. Highly recommend.
We had an incredible morning excursion in August. The crew (Maggie, Jon & Robin) were great, always fun to chat / learn about sharks! They really prepared everyone for what the excursion will entail, leading to no surprises. As an inexperienced diver, I felt completely safe. While seeing sharks isn't in control of the team, a BEAUTIFUL 17ft Great White Shark graced us with his presence! Truly was a dream come true. Can't thank Atlantic Shark Expeditions enough, see you in 2026!
I only wish i did it sooner. The staff were very knowledgeable and cared about everyone being safe. They take their time to explain what to do. I loved the whole experience!
